A committee of vultures descend on Oscar Pistorius

It’s going to be one of the biggest stories of 2014 in South Africa, if not the world : Oscar Pistorius. The Olympian with no legs, inspired millions and fell from grace after shooting his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentines Day in their house in Pretoria in 2013.

Its an interesting case. Pistorius has openly admitted to killing the model. The question on everyone’s minds is did he murder her, or was it an accident? A year after her death, Pistorius will take to the stand to defend his case. This among tales of botched evidence taking, encrypted cell phones, fired prosecutors and leaked photos is a story that will have viewers from all over the world glued to their televisions.

The media frenzy building up outside of the courtroom is something to mention. Fueled by the world’s interest, journalists have swamped the case like a committee of vultures (no pun intended). Am in the thick of it? Why yes, of course.  Be it in my lounge, or in front of the blade runner himself.

Which ones are better colour or B&W? Abroad rural KwaZulu-Natal

On assignment for Forbes I got the chance to shoot some landscapes. But I can’t decide which are better the black and white versions or the colour?

These are photos from the Valley of a Thousand Hills, a mountainous countryside littered with rondavels (Southern African-styled huts) and roaming cows. It is in rural KwaZulu-Natal between Pietermartizburg and Durban.
